Seek and you shall find
“ Does anyone have any suggestions on how to connect to God from the heart ?”
Someone posted this question in a Facebook group recently and I thought it was a topic that many of us can relate too.
So many times in my walk with the Lord I have drifted from Him but many other times it has felt like He has hidden from me.
I know that He does that sometimes because David’s Psalms are filled with the emotional struggles of someone who feels they have been abandoned by God.
These times of darkness drove David and drive us to persevere, to bushwhack through the wilderness to find our Savior.
It’s always hard and messy and it’s always beneficial to our character and the strengthening of our faith.
As the veil of deception created by the enemy via the globalist cabal continues to thin, more and more people are starting to see through.
Consequently there is a growing number of folks are coming to search for the Most High God, wishing to connect with Him.
Here is one such post:
“I’m not sure if this is an appropriate question. I have never been interested in religion, the Bible and anything to do with it.
Until now.
I’m trying to unlearn life and seeing so very clearly, and all I want is to have that connection with God.
I can mentally try to but I just have a disconnect from all these years of being closed off.
Doesn’t feel authentic when I tell myself I believe.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to connect from the heart ?”
It made my heart sing to read the earnest curiosity and motivation in this post.
This was my response based on my own experience of feeling it difficult to find the Lord, and I thought I would share it.
It’s just a Facebook group comment so in no way all the words that it’s, but a pretty decent summary.
My response:
“I know that the Lord loves when we seek after Him, ESPECIALLY when we don’t get the emotional confirmations we think we should from trying to “connect with God.”
He is God and He has allowed Himself to be hidden but counts it as righteousness when we believe and have faith even when we don’t have feelings.
From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands.
God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
Acts 17:26-27
My opinion-
Keep seeking and He will answer in a big way.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7
It’s on us to find Him. He is God and He doesn’t have to answer us if He doesn’t want to, but He does because He is love. He is also the Almighty and EVERYTHING is His
Job 38-41
Everything you love in life is from God.
So you already know things about His character because He has given you every single good thing in your life.
Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.
James 1:17
Happy hunting!!! 💕💕”
I would love to hear what you would say to this woman. Please share if you feel comfortable

This is one of my favorite little topics! I like to ask people what happens when they pray, or say “hello, God” or some other such attempt. Like literally happens — do they hear words, suddenly, or do they feel something in their bodies, subtly or otherwise, or do they have a vision? It seems many have problems believing anything to be true if they are told the way they are supposed to perceive it and it doesn’t fit the description they are given. Turning it on its head is finding out what is their own initial (at least) sensed connection.
I can’t help but wonder what this person will be feeling days or even a week after posting this question.
As you said Sarah, He loves that we ask and want to seek him. When I reach out to you and ask a question or request prayer I am always rewarded by the Most High for the acknowledgment. Be it thought provoking words of wisdom or the Holy Spirit when I’m prayed for.
Some days it’s music and worship I need to get me feeling it or other times just the quiet thoughts while walking through creation.
Fortunately He is a good father and Knows what we need.
