The transition into motherhood can be challenging for any number of reasons, not least of which is women feel like they are losing themselves.
Women are told that having a career and a public persona outside of the home is necessary, paramount even.
Many women have lives that currently (or appear to currently) require them to work in the work force .
Balancing the pull to be strong individual and capable woman as well as to be nurturing, kind, patient and present mother is very difficult and has blindsided many a new mom.
Mothering is a full time, full life, full body job.
To then have to handle anything in addition to the work of mothering is extremely difficult.
I see if often and have lived it too.
