Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
Colossians 3:23
The performative nature of life these days seems to be absorbing the every other aspect of living in an amebic-type fashion.
We are a culture OBSESSED with doing things for others, but not in a servant’s heart sort of manner, but rather for the attention, praise or acknowledgement piece.
I think some of us crave the attention and validation of others.
It fills a void in our hearts and minds.
It makes us feel loved and accepted.
It compensates the unconditional love or security we crave, yet never received from someone important.
